The idea is that the D200 will be an alternative to the cheaper D3100 and not replace it as we originally thought. The price difference between the two models will be a significant $150 with the black body and 15-55mm kit lens expected to arrive at the end of April at $700.

As for the camera itself you can get it in two colors, red or black. You also get:

• A substantial 24-megapixels with an Expeed 3 processing engine.
• An ISO of 6400
• And a much higher resolution LCD display

The hardware is pretty much the same as the D3100 and thats a good thing. You can also look out for extra’s like the $60 WU-1A WiFi dongle that lets you beam your photo’s wirelessly to your andriod device, and soon your iOS device as well.
